For the first post on this blog I thought I'd write something to make light of the 59 foot tall Gundam robot that's just been unveiled in Japan!
This mammoth fibreglass coated steel framed thing of beauty has been erected in an amusement park as part of the celebrations for the fantastic animated giant robot epic Gundam's 30th anniversary celebration! Brilliant! Unfortunately, it will only be standing for two months, so sad faces all round as it's one of the coolest things I won't be getting to actually see! I hope someone has the forsight to save it's shiny metal ass!
On second thought it probably won't be all that bad actually, as Japanese robotics research is racing forward with such incredible leaps and bounds these days, there'll probably be a fully working one roaming the country side in a few years time anyway. I always get the feeling that a giant robot is more than likely going to be the eventual outcome of the all work being done there, which would be truly amazing/kinda scary.
Either way - I WANT ONE. And I promise I won't destroy any cities if I do.
(Well, maybe one city, and trust me some people won't mind if I do.)
